Ruth's love of gardening and nature starts at an early age, spending time in the garden and helping her grandfather's vegetable patch and even dig a pond! As a teenager she started a weekend job at her local garden centre. She trained as horticulturalist graduating with a BTEC Diploma, and a National Technical Certificate. She then spent a year training at the Chelsea Physic Garden.
Her expertise in all things gardening has seen her broadcast from a number of horticultural events, such as the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.
